Third Annual Keep the Drive High School Journalism Awards

Use your journalism skills to make a difference and create awareness about the No. 1 killer of teens.

Because of adverse weather conditions throughout the country, they've received numerous requests from students and teachers to extend the deadline of the Keep the Drive High School Journalism Awards program until March 8, 2011.

All submissions, for both the print and broadcast categories, are due by March 8, 2011.
The Allstate Foundation is sponsoring the third annual Keep the Drive High School Journalism Awards to encourage teens to educate their peers about the dangers of texting while driving.
Journalists may enter either the Print Category or Broadcast Category, but not both. Print Category submissions are articles written and published by students in high school newspapers. Broadcast Category submissions are broadcast segments in journalistic style written and produced by students and aired within the high school.
Again this year, the Keep the Drive Journalism Awards wants teens to specifically address the dangers of texting while driving. All stories and news segments must incorporate this topic and include the website www.KeeptheDrive.com. KeeptheDrive.com is a great resource for your peers to learn more about smart driving and ways to get involved. Award entries will be accepted from October 1, 2010 through March 8, 2011.
You could win one of the following three cash awards based on your work!
  • Grand Prize: $2,000
  • Second Place: $1,000
  • Third Place: $750
How do you enter? Click the print or broadcast buttons HERE to access the online application. Begin by creating an account, and then complete the online application entirely. For print category submissions, upload a legible, scanned version of your published article when prompted in the application. For broadcast category submissions, upload your video to YouTube and be sure to include your unique YouTube link when prompted in the application.
